So my mind just got blown for two reasons after watching all these you tube videos.
1. The cars have come a long way since I as into RC (dont want to say how long ago it will just make me feel old) There is a new method of modding the cars for getting full counter steer drift - last time I saw RC drifting it was just flicking the front whels to initiate and then the car just rotates around while on the gas with the front wheels straight or sometimes turning into the corner,,,, but now that they are locking difs and over driving the rear wheels, they can drift in a realistic way where you hold the countersteer all the way through a turn to the next transition.
2. The scale tracks and more detailed cars with active brake, turn signal, and head lights add a new level of realism versus playing around in the parking lot. They even have multi elevations with touge sections, scale guard rails, street lights, road signs, grass etc. Some people are even playing with smoke emitters on the cars.

I think RC drifting is a great way for noobs to understand car settings. You can adjust steering angle, ackerman, camber, caster, toe, damper stiffness, spring rate, sway bars, chassis stiffening, tire compounds etc. The realistic courses will teach you what an effective race line is, clipping points etc.

Oh ya it looks pretty fun too.

This track is sweet but not too much cuntersteer

This track is dope and all of the cars are modded for CS drifting, the % on each car is how much more the rear whels are turning compaired to the front wheels. The primer/missing aero parts is pretty clever. Clean Tsuiso too.

The action figure audience is pretty corny but they have built a touge section thats gangster.

The top floor of Ken Nomura's URAS shop is a RC drift track. http://www.uras.co.jp/square/index.html

Ueno of T&E / Vertex also has an indoor RC drift track recently featured on speedhunters. http://speedhunters.com/archive/2010/12/20/event-gt-gt-t-amp-e-rc-drift-comp.aspx

Im pretty jealous.

Looks like ORIDO has one too caled the mountain pass

***Eisuke San*** Please make a perfect 1:10 miniature scale YZ circuit behind Parts Shop MAX Japan. I wish I had the space in the USA.this course is pretty good, looks like they took over a corner of a parking lot and made the most of it. Mountain is not 1:10 scale obviously...##SANITISED## title="YouTube video player" class="youtube-player" type="text/html" width="640" height="510" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/gMX7NhWejc4?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowFullScreen>##SANITISED##>
this course seems like it has an accurate scale perimeter and a really simple course but stil looks fun. Nice wood driving platform!
night time lights look great - I like how this does not take too much space.

Trying to fit YZ circuit in my back yard, 22ft x 59ft. It cant be an exact scale copy but I can get close enough I think to duplicate the experience of the track. Track width is 4 feet. (1:10 car width is 8 inches)

Its angled to fit better and give you places to stand / spectate under the straight and on the outside of the big turn just like the real YZ.
