Hi this is Martinwith your translation of the Day, I was reading drift heaven magazine Jan,07(page48,49)and found out that if you have an external wastegate and recirculate it at the right length, you gain horse power and torque. The only exception is for rotory engines. It also explains that if you atmosphere it with your rotory you gain power.

It says more but this is the basic idea.

Wastegate gases reentering the downpipe away from the turbo prevents turbulence in the turbo's exit flow.

At which point do you need to run an external waste gate? Is it based on size of your turbo or psi?

some aftermarket turbo's dont have an internal wastegate. Also for max performance. external wastegates are more efficient and precise. also gets rid of boost creep.

Well with a properly designed manifold it can do away with boost creep. But improperly designed piping/angles to the wastegate from the manifold can still creep.
