I have never heard of the brand so I just don't know what kind of quality the paint will be. I also have not heard of candy pearl, it sounds like it does 2 jobs in one. Tints the clear and adds pearl. It says that it is guaranteed to mix with any clear so I would be more willing to try it versus the other paint because you can get a good clear which is important. Transtar Euro Quick cycle clear 3.5 voc #7211 slow reducer slow activator kit is about $150 my cost. It is the same clear thats on the skyline. As far as the base coat goes, just pick up the brightest silver you can find in PPG OMNI at Tri City. Thats a cheap base coat that i have had success with in the past as long as you aren't trying to color match other panels.
I need to warn you again, candy & pearl are not a do it yourselfer kind of paint, it tends to stripe as you spray so you need a very skilled painter to make it come out evenly. If you want to do candy yourself, try the Tri City base that bleeds into the clear for candy effect (but the materials will cost more). Other than that know that most of the paint quality comes from the prep job.
I was chatting with Nick at Neo-Tech in El Cajon. He is impressed with your drift skillz, he'd like to talk to you. Call him at 619-631-0664.
