The reason why the trouble begins is us drifters we use alot of on and off throttle. (and with more force) you keep the full throttle position a lot longer than usual which all puts stress on the shaft of the throttle body so you can blow your engine because it can get stuck. Also if you do a motor swap or get a new surge tank it is particularly important to mount the cable properly or you could do some serious damage.

One thing you can do that is quick is use a nissan Pulsar throttle body because they are beefier.

Make sure that the throttle cable has not too much slack but not excessively tight either.

Make sure it is angled so that it is perpendicular to the throttle plate and in line with the pulley.

The throttle plate screws can come loose and have been known to blow motors, get stuck in valves etc.

Have someone step on the gas pedal all the way down when the car is off to make sure it has the right stop point, if the throttle plate hits wide open before the petal hits the floor then the petal should be spaced up a bit to prevent excessive wear.

Look out for a higher idle because it may mean the screw is loose on the throttle plate letting more air in.

Check if the TB is messed up if you have a rough idle.
