Martin says FEB pg.62-63 issue of Drift Tengoku magazine says:

Removal of sound deadning material is twice as fast in the winter vs. summer.
The featured shop charges $2000 to remove and paint.
The weight savings is 15 KG on an S13.
This is the perfect mod for people who dont have much money, and a lot of time.
Tools required are flat head screw driver, scraper, hammer for major chunk removal.
Paint thinner/gas/acetone to wipe excessive adhesive.
Scotch brite pad, to prep for painting.
4 cans of spray paint to cover the rear compartment and under the rear seat.
Mag says to remove dash, and center console as well, but in our opinion it is easier to mask those items.
Oh yeah, a fume/dust mask may save your life.

Matty-cakes used some product I don't remember the name but it worked really well for him.

Maybe he'll post what he used.

I want to do this but I'm too lazy to pull out my rollcage. Cause if I pull out my cage I'll want to paint/powdercoat or Chrome it, and if the cage is out I'll pull my dash off to remove the passenger side airbag too. So then a small project turns into this huge, expensive, ordeal.

Bleah...

nope it didnt evaporate... i only left it on for an hour or so. then scrub it with the brush you do dishes with. can come out as clean as you want. you can even do this a few times. doesnt scratch the metal (no need to repaint) and make its really clean. do work. or you can get a small rubber attachment for a drill/ that air compressor you guys got and run it off that and scrub it w/ that.

That's how I did mine. It's super quick! 15 pounds is more than enough probably.
Break it up into like sand size and sprinkle it all over everything you want to remove.
It'll start freezing and making popping noises real quick.
Then either smack it with a hammer to break it up or pry it up in big chunks with a screwdriver or something.
Of course wear leather gloves or something. It goes even faster when it's already cold in the winter

I didnt have the patience so I used the heat gun and ended up branding myself with the tip of the gun while it was laying on the floor and I was scraping.
