I was just wondering what dampening setting all the max users have their coilovers set to. Whether it be for comfort or performance, if you could post your chassis, settings and give a brief description to why you chose those settings.

s13
front: 10 (1 being softest, 10 being stiffest)
rear: 8 (" ")

Front rubbed like crazy at 5, changed to 8, still rubbed under load, now at ten. After I get a 40 series tire I'll lower it to 8/5. see how that goes.

As with most single adjustable shocks, the compression damping is the same whether you crank it up or not. Its the rebound that's adjustable. So to stop the rubbing you'd need stiffer springs, raised car, smaller tires, or more hammer.

I always run my dampers in the softer side of the range. That's just what i have felt works better for me but every car and driver is different.

If you were rubbing and are too lazy to hammer anything or roll the fender the softest setting would allow the spring to get the tire off of the wheel well faster.

I typically run softer settings on low grip tires and harder setting on high grip tires.

Interesting. I already hammered the wells as much as I could with a 5 lb hammer. I'll give this air hammer you speak of a try. I guess 215/45 are crappy sizes

Just tub it man, it's not all that hard. You'll have to cut the lip coming down from the fender rail things off too.
