We tested this customized knuckle / spindle on Tommy's car during All star bash X I'll let him chime in on his driving experience with these but the main points here are: > Roll Center adjusted for low ride height > Eliminate bump steer > Super steering angle > Adjustable steering quickness > Selectable ackerman (on this set we did really low ackerman because tommy has a lot of horsepower) A shop in Japan named Matikado R was featured in June drift tengoku's new parts section doing a similar OEM knuckle mod for $550 which I think is a reasonable price that we will match. Complimentary upgrades are long tie rods and S14 spec or adjustable LCA.
As you can see the tie rod and lower control arm are perfectly paralell.
That includes the SAK so if you already have that it's just $150. By complimentary I mean you should get them. S14 spec tie rods are good because of the girth but the length is longer than stock. And the OEM s14 LCA is longer than s13 so it is a length upgrade or aftermarket LCA is good. No announcements on our LCA yet but yes eventually we will.
How can customers outside the USA (like me) get one of them? I mean if i´ll send you my knuckels, then you´ll modify + send them back... this will be not cheap... Maybe is it possible that you´ll get some knuckles in the US, modify them and send them to me?
For sure i´ll pay the complete stuff:
-knuckles -mods -shipping -etc. <-???
If you´ll release them i´ll take a set of front and rears.
Another question: Do i need your "steering angle mod" wiht these knuckles or do they already use it?
Yeah so i drove on these last weekend. They definetly feel different. I think i need to still dial them in. I messed with the original knuckles a lot to get them perfect. these i just slapped on in a hurry so i feel like there's more testing to be done to get it perfect. It's just an idea Martin and I came up with while bullshitting under my car.
review:
Angle and steering quickness seems to be similar to original knuckles. But there was some getting used to.
Overall i noticed once you throw big angle, rather than just scrubbing speed, the car followed the front more. That makes sense to me due to the change in ackerman. That came in handy a few times on the fast streets of willow track.
Having the roll center corrected makes a very noticable difference in handling especially when grip driving. The car felt really good gripping where as it never did before probably due to partly to small low grip front tires and super lowness.
Overall this is a step in the right direction. Like i said, messing with alignment more and stuff will tell for sure if it's better.
I've been messin with suspension stuff the last few weeks and it felt awesome. Backwards entry is cake. I was even doing it behind people who were driving straight which i thought was funny. super commited.
