I am looking to get a better explanation of Steering becoming "Over Center".

Is that when your steering goes past the point to where the inner/outer tie rod combination max out with steering angle?

I've read that increasing your steering angle + mods (shaving stopper on stock knuckle) + etc will bring you closer to being "Over Center".

What mods do you do to prevent steering from becoming "Over Center"? Re-locating steering rack/offset steering rack spacers and relocating the mounting point for the outer tie rod on the knuckle?

over center is when the steering arm on the knuckle is lined up straight with the tie rod
(not inner and outer tie rod, they are screwed into each other)
when the tie rod becomes aligned with the knuckle steering arm, you have no steering leverage.

Our Super Angle Knuckle modification changes the position of the pivot point between tie rod and knuckle which prevents over centering among many other things.

Yes moving the rack forward is another method.

Moving the rack forward makes a massive diference to the weight of the steering. Makes the feel much nicer and lighter whilst on lock. Most probably the best mod i have done to my steering.

Yes and no.

Modding the original crossmember/subframe is the best way imo. But it may not conform with some regs.

Driftworks and uras make overcenter spacers, which will do the job but may cause probs with steering gaiters and also sideways load may reck the rack seals. Its also possible that they will add an element of bump steer.

The other option is replacement rack bushes which move the rack forward. But we are talking a few mm.

My modded crosmember moves the rack forward 23mm

Also, driftworks spacers only work on RHD cars. You have to notch your rack for them to fit on LHD cars.

the knuckles prevent over center and are awesome anyways. Do that first.
